Perspective

"Two boys arrived yesterday with a pebble they said was the head of a dog until I pointed out that it was really a typewriter." - Pablo Picasso One of my friends lost his father when he was 14years old; another lost hers when she was just a baby. Which is better? And yet another, lost his dad just after his engagement. Now? A boy lost his left leg in an accident. His brother, in the same accident, lost his life! Which is better? A beautiful singer and actress, died when she was at her best. Another passed away well after her best, and when she had almost been forgotten. Which is better? A kid passed his exams but did not score well; another failed his exams Which is better? Life is full of such questions which we keep answering all through, but, do we really evaluate the situation truly or do we add our own perspective? Don't we prefer to reply to these questions with our own experiences? Don't we prefer to give just those answers that ju

Ko - A Review

W ith a very humble entry for the unassuming hero, the movie sweeps you off your feet in the very first scene, keeps you up in the air and never lets you down till the end. Scene after scene, there is suspense. A little bit of relaxation once in a while and that means you better gear up to sit at the edge of the seat for a nail biting scene soon! The screenplay is just mind-blowing and keeps you wondering and guessing and hoping all together at all times! The movie seems long in the first half though, owing to the depth of its content and the time it takes for the audience to keep up with the pace. Your much deserved interval block, especially leaves you panting for breathe at the speed with which the movie carries you along and all the assimilation you are having to do. The heavy content is well complemented by the mostly simple song sequences shot at astounding locations. (Kudos to the location team!) This is probably apart from 'Aga naga' which displays Jeeva's

An Ordinary Man - Chapter 1

Chapter 1 16 th September 2010 I t was yet another restless no-peace day. The mind was full of thoughts and clutter of images. Nidhi was going through seemingly difficult times; her career wasn’t taking off the way she had expected it to, but that wasn’t really bothering her. What was bothering was something else, and she couldn’t figure what. With these thoughts driving her, she drove back home in her year old Alto she had traded for her grandpa’s Maruti 800. Back home, she found her mom, Akila in the kitchen, (as expected) and as she normally did, enquired about her dad, Madhu’s whereabouts. “Your dad’s in the hospital. Grandpa’s not well na.. He had to be hospitalised for the operation today. I told you yesterday na..?!” “Oh! Ya ya... I remember.. Alright...”, managed Nidhi. Mechanically she proceeded to throw her bag in a corner, freshen up, and geared up to dine and hit the sacks. The day had now been officially declared over. Madhu had returned and was updating

Adam's Dilemma

Sweet as you are The apple of my eye My mind’s at war How much ever I try Wish I could hold you And have you as mine Wish I could relish your beauty And your deep-red shine I can see you, I can reach out! Can even hold you, no doubt! But I am a mere spectator Of a plan much greater! A plan of the lord almighty To make me enjoy such beauty And with such frivolity! Oh! I shall never have his clarity! I yearn for you to be mine The fruit with the deep-red shine Whilst I shall hold you special In the world so convivial
